Except as otherwise stated, Hudson Insurance Group (“Hudson”) does not collect data containing confidential or personally identifying information (also referred to as Confidential Personal Information, or “CPI”) from visitors to this website, unless provided by the visitor or the visitor’s browser. Hudson has adopted policies to protect the confidentiality of your CPI, including social security number, and to limit access to those with a need to know such information.

Visitors to this website should be aware that Hudson may collect information using cookies or similar technology. Cookies are small files that are written to visitors’ computers or mobile devices when they visit a website. Visitors’ browsers send the cookies back to the website every time they re-visit the website in order for it to recognize them or for record-keeping purposes. Collection, Use and Disclosure of Your Information
Hudson limits the collection, disclosure and use of CPI to only what is needed to properly produce, underwrite, service and administer its insurance products and/or to fulfill legal or regulatory requirements, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • producing, quoting, underwriting and renewing insurance products
  • insurance policy administration
  • claims administration, adjustment and management
  • fraud detection, investigation, prosecution and prevention
  • loss control
  • other purposes outside the insurance life cycle that are necessary for the provision of insurance throughout the insurance life cycle period
  • business activities that Hudson may legally undertake

Please note that Hudson may also disclose CPI for these purposes to its service providers, contractors, agents and other affiliates that perform activities on its behalf.

Hudson does not sell CPI to any third parties and does not use it for marketing any of its insurance products.

The type of information that Hudson collects varies according to the insurance product involved and may include information that it receives from you on applications and other forms, information it receives from your employer and information it receives from other sources such as motor vehicle reports or other insurance support organizations or medical providers.

Data Hudson May Collect About You (Your CPI)
In order for us to provide insurance quotes, insurance products and/or handle any claims or complaints, Hudson needs to collect and process CPI. The types of CPI that Hudson collected, processed and disclosed for business purposes in the last 12 months may include:

  • Individual details such as name, signature, address (including proof of address), other contact details (for example, email address and telephone numbers), gender, marital status, date and place of birth, nationality, occupation, employer, job title, employment history, and family details, including their relationship to you.
  • Identification details such as identification numbers issued by government bodies or agencies, including your social security number, passport number, and/or driver’s license number and state.
  • Financial information such as bank account, credit card or debit card details, insurance policy number, income or other financial information.
  • Risk details including information about you which Hudson needs to collect in order to assess the risk(s) to be insured and provide a quote. This may include data relating to your health, medical information, criminal convictions or other special categories of CPI. For certain types of products, this could also include telematics data.
  • Policy information about the quotes you receive and policies you take out.
  • Credit and anti-fraud data such as credit history, credit score, sanctions, criminal offenses and information received from various anti-fraud databases relating to you.
  • Information about previous and current claims (including other unrelated insurances), which may include data relating to your health, criminal convictions or other special categories of CPI and, in some cases, surveillance reports.
  • Special categories such as health records, criminal convictions, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, union membership, genetic data, biometric or data concerning sex life or sexual orientation.

Where Hudson Might Collect Your CPI From
Hudson may collect your CPI from various sources, including:

  • you;
  • your family members, employer or representative;
  • other insurance market participants;
  • the internet;
  • credit monitoring agencies;
  • anti-fraud databases, sanctions lists, court judgments and other databases; or
  • government agencies.

Which of the above sources apply will depend on your particular circumstances.

If Hudson orders an investigative consumer report, you will be notified as required by state laws and the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Under the FCRA, you have the right to ask to be personally interviewed if Hudson orders an investigative consumer report. Upon request, Hudson will tell you how to get a copy of the report. The agency that prepares a consumer report for Hudson may retain that report and disclose it to other persons as permitted by law.

Safeguarding Your Privacy
Hudson is committed to protecting your privacy. Hudson maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your CPI from unauthorized access. Hudson reviews its policies and practices, monitors its computer networks, tests the strength of its security and monitors its compliance with relevant laws and regulations in order to ensure the safety of your CPI.

Access to CPI is limited to those employees and authorized representatives, attorneys and service providers who specifically need such information to conduct their business responsibilities. If you conclude your relationship with Hudson, Hudson will continue to safeguard your privacy in accordance with the standards described in this Privacy Policy.

All employees of Hudson are required to comply with this Privacy Policy. Employees who violate this Privacy Policy are subject to disciplinary measures.

Hudson cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other CPI will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. For example, Hudson may be forced to disclose information to the government, to regulators having jurisdiction, on the order of a court of competent jurisdiction, in response to a statutory obligation or, under certain circumstances, to third parties. In addition, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. Hudson can (and you authorize Hudson to) disclose any information about you to law enforcement or other government officials as Hudson, in its sole discretion, believes necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements or other activity that is illegal or may expose Hudson to legal liability.

Accessing Your CPI
You may have the right to access certain CPI that is in Hudson’s possession or under its control up to a maximum of two (2) times per year. More specifically, you may have the right to request:

  • The categories of CPI we have collected about you.
  • The categories of sources from which the CPI is collected.
  • The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling CPI.
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share CPI.
  • The specific pieces of CPI we have collected about you.
  • The categories of CPI that we disclosed about you for a business purpose.

You may also have the further right to request deletion or correction of certain information if you feel it is inaccurate. However, there may be situations in which Hudson may not be able to grant your requests. If this is the case, Hudson will advise you of why, subject to any legal restrictions.
